Introducing Miss Sheralyn!!

Miss Sheralyn fell in love with Dance at the age of 10. She studied at Lorri’s Dance Place in Etobicoke. During her time there she achieved Intermediate in RAD and Grade IV in BATD. She grew a great fondness for Classical Ballet. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts as a Dance major and increased her repertoire in Modern, and Ballet. She performed in countless Dance events, The Fringe festival in Toronto, The opening ceremonies for the Special Olympics, a half time performance for an Argos game. She was the first to be a member of both Dance groups at ESA, DancESAtion, and Terpsichore. Both which would travel to local schools, as well as in Toronto area festivals. She was a dedicated student and during her high school years she found her desire to teach and share her passion for Dance. She was accepted into the National Ballet for the Teaching program.

Sheralyn continued to Dance while completing a program in Early Childhood Education. She has built a new life here in Barrie and has returned to teaching Dance recreationally through the school board. During her day job as an ECE in SCDSB she offers a recreational Dance program for students in Grade 1-8. This year her junior Dance team was invited to a Dance competition held by Bear Creek and they won the “Crowd Favorite” award. This was an incredible opportunity for many of her students who have never had the pleasure to perform on a real stage before. This summer she is taking the steps to complete Teacher Training School with Dance Masters of America. She loves to foster a passion for Dance and enjoys seeing the growth in her students. She looks forward to her opportunity to be a part of the ATD team.
