Barrie's All That's Dance & More competitive dancer's share their love of dance

The All That's Dance & More competitive dance teams have completed another fantastic season with their final competition of the year having taken place in Alliston at the end of April. It was their fourth competition, having already competed in Niagara Falls, Milton, and Toronto.

As always, they kicked off the season with performances at a local senior's home where they had the opportunity to share their talents while practicing their skills for their future competitions. Studio director Natalie Lacasse was extremely pleased with all of their success which was the result of the dancer's hard work, dedication and commitment. She can hardly believe the studio is gearing up for it's 15th annual recital, and is proud to have given so many amazing dancers the ability to learn and share their love of dance over the years.

With accolades such as "Top Choreography", "Top Tap Routine", "Top Contemporary Routine", it's no wonder these dancers were chosen to perform in several of the competition's final showcases, where the best dances of the weekend are honoured with the opportunity to perform and compete again for the judges and audience. The junior team won the dance off in Toronto at Luv 2 Dance with their jazz performance titled Merengue, while the junior/intermediates finished first runner-up with their jazz dance titled Glam. At the same competition they were awarded the top junior and senior elite group, along with the top classic and novice group, and received several top awards for their trios, duets, and solos recognizing the talent of so many who were competing for their very first time.

The studio's choreography was acknowledged with several awards and the judges recognized the high quality of dance training across all the teams. The studio was also acknowledged with the "Top Costume" award for the On the Floor competition held in Alliston. With far too many special awards to name them all, the two that speak to their quality and talent were In Perfect Harmony, and Watch me Soar, both awarded for solos that wowed the judges. The dancers showed off talents in tap, jazz, ballet, acrobatics, contemporary, lyrical, pointe, musical theatre and hip hop, for which they received high marks and lots of applause. As a result of their performances 13 students were selected by Luv 2 Dance to join their elite team. Many of the students received scholarships to various summer workshops, and they'll also be performing at national finals in July at Blue Mountain in Collingwood.

The dancers are looking forward to sharing the stage with all of the studio's recreational students during the 15th annual dance recital being held at the Georgian Theatre on Friday, June 1. Dancers aged two to adult will be taking the stage to share their talent and passion for dance. Tickets can be purchased online or in person through the box office located at the Five Points Theatre at 1 Dunlop St. W. in downtown Barrie.
