Lauren Little

A.R.A.D

Lauren fell in love with dance at the tender age of 4. Her journey began at the Greta Leeming Studio of Dance in Ottawa and after a family move she continued her training at Simcoe Dance Academy in Barrie. During these years she achieved Advance 2 in RAD Ballet, Advance ISTD Tap and Modern, and Advance CDTA Jazz, all with Honours or Advanced Standings. She has also attended the Quinte Ballet School, Ryerson University in the Theater Dance program, and has worked with or participated in workshops under choreographers such as Jen Cohen, Nadia Potts, Shawn Byfield, Annie Woods, and Siona Jackson. She has also had the joy of working with Moving Art. This program brings dance and theatre into the grade school system so that children, who otherwise would never get a chance, can experience the arts first hand. She is currently continuing her dance education by working at attaining her teaching certificate through CDTA and this summer she will be attending Dance Masters of America Teacher Training School.
Lauren has had many great opportunities in her life, which relate to the arts. She has worked with the Toronto Blue Jays Dance Force, appeared on Royal Canadian Air Farce, and can currently be seen dancing in an Italpasta commercial. Her other passion in life is Musical Theater. She has appeared in many productions throughout the years including, the Wizard of Oz, Big the musical (South Simcoe Theatre), Godspell, School House Rocks Live, Once Upon a Holiday (Moving Art) and Jesus Christ Superstar (Kempenfelt Community Player). She was also honoured to be part of the Theater By the Bay production of Romeo and Juliet in 2003. The knowledge and experience gained from working with the professional cast and crew was invaluable.
Lauren is extremely dedicated to her art and to her students. Not only does she take pride in her career as a dance educator, but she also takes great interest in her student’s progress and their personal wellbeing. She strives to pass on her love and passion for the arts, and her enthusiasm shows!
